Almacén Hércules es el primer almacén abierto y remoto de la Compañía Cervecera Hércules, la cervecería local de Querétaro, destinado a ser una extensión de la bodega de esta cervecería.

Ubicado en un predio urbano junto al río y cerca del centro histórico de la ciudad, el proyecto se plantea desde el inicio con la intención de asemejarse a un almacén industrial; de esta intención nace su forma.

El edificio se resuelve mediante una estructura de concreto pigmentado en rojo que conforma una cubierta en diente de sierra con acristalamiento ventilado orientado al norte, y cerrada al sur, este y oeste. Esta geometría permite la entrada de luz natural y genera una ventilación cruzada bajo la altura generosa de siete metros, que se traduce en un ambiente enfriado de manera natural. La orientación privilegia las vistas hacia los árboles del río y bloquea el entorno urbano circundante.

Almacén Hércules is the first remote open warehouse of Compañía Cervecera Hércules, Querétaro's local brewery, conceived as an extension of the brewery's cellar.

Set on an urban site by the river and close to the city's historic center, the project was approached from the outset with the intention of resembling an industrial warehouse; from this intention, its form emerges.

The building is resolved through a red-pigmented concrete structure that shapes a saw-toothed roof with ventilated glazing facing north, and closed off to the south, east and west. This geometry allows natural light to enter and generates cross ventilation beneath the generous seven-meter ceiling, resulting in a naturally cooled environment. The orientation frames the views of the trees by the river and blocks the surrounding urban context.

El proyecto plantea una relación continua entre interior y exterior; los recorridos atraviesan ambas condiciones, que se comunican entre sí y, a pesar de sus distintas atmósferas, se perciben como parte de un mismo ambiente.

En el interior, la cubierta y los muros se recubren con paneles de madera que dialogan con el concreto rojo aparente. Los muros de cuarenta centímetros construidos en sitio intensifican el carácter rural del espacio; un gesto que remite a la tienda mexicana tradicional.

The project establishes a continuous relationship between interior and exterior; circulations move through both conditions, which communicate with one another and, despite their distinct atmospheres, are perceived as part of a single environment.

Inside, the roof and walls are clad in wood panels that engage with the exposed red concrete. The forty-centimeter walls, built on site, intensify the rural character of the space; a gesture that recalls the traditional Mexican store.
